My biggest solo project so far has two basic selling points… parkour, and weapons. Loads, and loads of weapons. With an absurdly basic programmer artstyle, and blocky Trove-like characters, Pathmaker puts everything into the pure, solid gameplay.

Pathmaker started off with a simple premise: wall-running, and the feel of soaring around with it using a certain Garry’s Mod mod. I initially did just that: recreating the parkour mod, but everything changed when I decided to go one step further and add weapons. From there, Pathmaker gained multiplayer, PvE bots, and a colossal cast of characters, to the point it has become a fully playable splitscreen platform shooter.

In addition, thanks to it’s free status so far, Pathmaker is technically a fangame, chock-full of references to all kinds of franchises, from lightsabers to vibranium shields to element bending to minigun-arms to keyblades to ODM gear to pogo sticks to- you get the picture.

Right now, I’m planning a ‘Great Decopyrightening’ in which all the licensed assets and IP used in-game will be either removed or replaced. I feel the references are a large part of the game’s identity though, so I’ll try my best to ‘Henry Stickmin’ up some IP-free knockoff weapons.
